I use two different trailers, one for hauling a tractor and the other a small travel trailer used for local service and meeting events. I have a load leveling coupler with different weight spring bars for each one. Unfortunately, each trailer has a fixed ball coupler of a different size: 2 5/16 and 2 inches respectively. It was almost impossible to switch balls on the attachment coupler to accommodate the different trailers, so it was necessary to find a ball assemble that would allow using the load leveler head with the different ball sizes on the trailers. This unit absolutely fits that requirement to a tee. I've been using the Convert-a-Ball for this past season and it works well and meets all my needs. I strongly recommend it for any application where the trailer weight is less than 10 thousand pounds.

Trimax TQ1532 Trimaflex Integrated Keyed Cable Lock (32" length x 15mm) Review

(More customer reviews)This is not a 20mm cable lock. The steel cable is actually only about 8mm or 10mm in diameter, within a 20mm diameter plastic sleeve. (Optical distortion from the sleeve makes the steel look thicker than it is, but you can easily pry the sleeve back near one end and see that it's really a con.) I returned mine and got an OnGuard Akita 5036 lock, which is the real deal, much heavier. It cost $32 instead of $24 but for the extra $8 you get a real strong cable lock, not a joke.

Curt Manufacturing 13508 Class III Receiver Review

(More customer reviews)The hitch is fine, but installing it was a pain. This is a mix of the fact that it was being installed on a 97 Wrangler combined with the weird way you have to attach 2 of the nuts (they are on the end of metal handles that need to be fed into the frame). This probably is not the fault of Curt though, and is probably the only way to install a hitch on a 97 Wrangler. One of the nuts came off of the metal feeder thing though before it was even close to tight, causing problems (the other one went on fine). Two other bolts screw into weldnuts that are built into the Jeep frame, but were so rusty I had to invent my own method by drilling them out and then drilling a hole in the end of the frame that was big enough to get a wrench with a nut through to tighten the bolts. Again, not really the fault of Curt, just a rusty Jeep. I tried to get the weldnuts as clean as possible, but to no avail.

Curt Manufacturing 16526 Q5 Fifth Wheel Head W/ R5 Roller Review

(More customer reviews)There is no issue with this 5th wheel hitch itself - seems top quality. The issue and reason I'm leaving this review is that you can't trust Amazon's site to determine if this is really appropriate for your vehicle. As a 5th wheel newbie, I didn't understand that a roller is only intended and needed in a short bed pickup. I trusted the information that brought this up as a fit for my truck. A little later after doing more research and reading I realized this was a mistake. While I was back on the site within a short time to cancel the order, it was being prepared for shipping and couldn't be cancelled. Returning it became a $150 lesson (the shipping fees I was charged for the return).
So, a word of advice - don't trust the site to tell you if it fits your vehicle - a wiser person than me would have researched this outside this site first to determine whether this really was appropriate for the intended vehicle. This same thing happened with the window visors for my pickup - the functionality for whether or not it fits your vehicle on this site is not perfect and could lead you the wrong way.
As far as the quality of this item, it really does seem top quality. I purchased the same version of this 5th wheel hitch (excluding the roller assembly) which is what I use currently. The hitch itself (again the same one that comes with this minus the roller assembly) works perfectly for me.

(More customer reviews)This carrier is definitly rugged, but it wobbles all over the place. There are no assembly instructions, just an exploded view of the unit showing how it is assembled. If you can get through the assembly on your own, you will notice a few items that are weird. First, the nuts an bolts that assemble the tray to the main frame are button head bolts. You need a pretty big screw driver adn a lot of strength to tighten them. I swapped out the lag bolts for hex bolts. I also had to add stabilization straps going from my tow hitch side bars under my SUV to the very ends of the carrier.
If you don't mind the carrier wobbling, then it is a very good carrier. I just wish this carrier was more stable.

CIPA 11955, FastHitch Mirror Review

(More customer reviews)I use this mirror almost every work day to hook up a 6 ton construction trailer that has to be lined up perfectly. Just hook it on your tailgate, set the angle (after a couple of times you will remember the correct angle), and back the truck up to the exact spot. I can now back up to the trailer easier by myself than having someone guide me back. The only time it is difficult is @ night- the reverse lighting on my truck is barely bright enough to see the hitch through the mirror.

Curt Manufacturing 14355 Class IV Receiver Review

(More customer reviews)It took a friend of mine and I less than 15 minutes to install this hitch on my 2000 F150 Styleside. The hitch is well made and heavy duty, it feels heavier and better built than other brands I have installed or seen.I also like that it doesn't touch or interfere with the spare tire.
The only issue I had was: the hitch had a few places on it where the powder coat was chipped off during shipping. Not sure if the UPS man dropped it on the sidewalk or what happened.
All in all if you need a good heavy duty hitch this one is a great buy.

Curt Manufacturing 11829 Class I Receiver Review

My hitch arrived with NO damage to the box whatsoever. Set aside a Saturday morning to do the install. Got the car jacked, and the exhaust hangers removed only to find that the hitch was severely bent from the factory. It was off by approx 2" from where it should line up on the frame, rendering it unusable. I contaced the Curt customer support who (of course) tried to blame the shipping company. I snapped pics of the box it arrived in, and the fact that there was no damage to the powder coating whatsoever and emailed customer support to demonstrate that the problem was caused during the manufacturing process. Customer service rep denied plausibility, but agreed to ship me out a new unit immediately. 2 hours of my time wasted.
Recieved the new unit within 48hrs (very happy with this). Attempted fitment once again. This unit was a lot better, but still not perfect.... Once again it didn't line up properly. I can leg press 600lbs at the gym, and it was all I could do to leg press this hitch into place while my friend bolted it up. I was sweating my a__ off, I had hot steel in my eyes, and my beer was warm... I was not happy. But eventually we got it installed.
Instructions say 45 min to install, when in actuality it took us 2.5hrs (and this was installing with 2 people, one of whom is a licensed mechanic, and all the necessary tools at our disposal)... My friend the mechanics verdict: "this is a mickey mouse rig"
So bottom line: I chose Curt over Hidden Hitch and Reese because I had heard the build quality was superior... I likely wouldn't even consider one again, but the adequate customer service may have me coming back.... We'll see

Curt Manufacturing 83750 18800 Lb Cap 5/8 In Forged D-Ring W/Bracket Review

(More customer reviews)Bought two of these and welded them on the front bolt-on mount of our New Holland tractor yesterday to have some areas to allow us to chain it down better on a trailer. These things are nice and beefy. The mounts you weld on have a notch cut out so you can really get your weld to penetrate both surfaces and give you a solid weld giving you a result of a strongly attached d-ring now on your application. I liked these so much I'm probably going to get two more and attach them to the rear of the tractor since it doesn't have good points to chain down to. I didn't do it, but just make sure that you put your d-ring in the mount before welding it on :D
