(More customer reviews)Shackle works as well as you would expect a shackle too - it holds stuff.
Only problem was that the shackle did not originally fit over the mount - there was a ridge from the casting process on the shackle that made the opening too narrow to fit over the mount. A few minutes with a grinder and all works fine.
Warn is a good company, and I am sure they have taken care of this by now and replaced the mold

Curt Manufacturing 45824 Tow Strap Ball Mount Review

(More customer reviews)This is a very sturdy mount. The bar is a solid piece of steel and the D-ring is thick and solid as well. The towing capacity for this mount will easily exceed any towing rating on a non-commercial vehicle (and probably most commercial vehicles as well). The mounting bar fits snugly in my 2"x2" receiver tube and doesn't rattle around.
I gave it a four-star rating because of the price. At the price I paid at the time of purchase it was more than twice the cost of other similar mounts. Also, I really didn't care for the orange painted D-ring which came all scratched up. I swapped out that D-ring for a silver D-ring and kept the orange one for potential use on a vehicle in need of recovery.
Other similar recovery mounting bars are shorter in length and leaves the D-ring sitting closer to your bumper. This Curt mount bar is a little longer and sticks out a bit from your bumper. I prefer a tighter fit leaving the D-ring sitting closer to my bumper, but others may disagree.
All in all, a great solid recovery mount that should last longer than the life-time factory warranty that covers it.

Mad Dog Three-Way ATV Receiver Hitch Review

(More customer reviews)I've owned this hitch for several years. It has served me well.
I live in the mountains and my ATV is an essential survival tool (even if I don't venture into the wilderness).
This unit is solid steel and chromium steel construction. It can handle any load that any ATV can handle. The tongue weight limit on my ATV (a Honda Foreman)is 300 pounds. There is nothing I can load into my little trailer that this hitch will not handle.
The only problem with this hitch is a minor design flaw. If I try to use the trailer for hauling dirt, this hitch is not designed to allow for the weight.
The problem is that this bolts on to the ATV receiver and, with enough resistance, will simply swivel the hitch if the load is too heavy.
If I put 1500 pounds of dirt in my trailer, it will not exceed the tongue weight for the ATV receiver, however, the bolt on design of this hitch will cause it to swivel on the receiver while trying to back up. This causes jacknifing when hitched to very heavy loads and I haven't yet found a way around it.
Nevertheless, I gave it five stars because: (1) it is a very versatile design; and (2) the steel is very heavy; and (3) the welds are very, very solid.

WARN 62041 ATV Multi-Mount Steel Receiver Shackle Bracket Review

(More customer reviews)Looking at the picture, I expected the receiver portion to be solid steel (as you would find in a trailer hitch receiver). However, it's hollow! I bought this to use with a recovery strap on my Subaru, as I can't find a trailer hitch with a 2" receiver to fit the vehicle. After a phone call to Warn, I learned that this is rated for a 4000lb ATV winch (hence the hollow construction) and is not robust enough for my intended purpose.
For ATV purposes, I'm sure it would be fine - but for anyone looking at using it with a Class I/II trailer hitch on a car, I would recommend purchasing bar stock and drilling it out. Note to Amazon - listing the weight rating would be very helpful! I can't give this product a low rating since I did, after all, buy it for a different purpose than intended...however, I'd like to see someone else avoid running into the same problem I did.

Bestop 42922-01 HighRock 4X4 2" Receiver Black Recovery Hitch with D-Ring Review

(More customer reviews)I have a Class III hitch that has a standard 2"x2" receiver tube. The description states this should fit; it does not. It is too large by about an 1/8" on two sides. Not sure if it was milled to the wrong specs or what, but it simply doesn't fit and so it was returned.
This is cut out of a solid block of steel and looks to be extremely sturdy -- if it fit.
