Trimax TCL75 Wheel Chock Lock Review

The first time we used this, we spent about thirty minutes getting it on, and half a day getting it off! First, the key inserts very roughly in the lock, so it's difficult to tell if it's all the way in or not. After many tries, we finally got the key to work. Second, getting the parts to fit the first time is awkward, and difficult, and forced us to lay on our side trying to get the pieces to line up correctly. The good news is that once installed, it looks like it will be a real deterrent and should work fine. But it's not quick to put on or take off. Overall, I would rate this about a 3 - it does a good job, but what a difficult tool to use!

I received this product on time and in new condition. I have a Lexus RX350, and it has a mating plug under the bumper that this item simply plugs into... nothing could be easier.

This is a heavy duty hitch. It was shipped very quickly to my house. All parts were in the box. I am very pleased with the product and recommend it to anyone towing a camper. Amazon's price beat everyone else by a good bit.

Curt Manufacturing 11348 Class I Receiver Review

Curt Manufacturing 11348 Class I Receiver

After downsizing from my family minivan, I realized I couldn't haul around all our summer recreation "stuff," like bicycles. I checked out several hitches from various manufacturers & decided I liked what Curt had to offer and liked what people were saying about them.
It arrived quickly, about a week after I ordered it & free shipping, too! It seems like pretty good quality, with a nice enamaled paint finish. They also enclose the "fishwire" you will need to attach this thing to your car. The hardware is also included. It also comes with a 1 1/4 inch ball mount attachment. Ball is not included.
This hitch fits the Versa very well, but there is some drilling involved to enlarge a hole in the car's frame. This must be done in order to get the bolt & washer into the inside of the frame on the left side of the car. My husband came stomping in & informed me I owed him two grinding stones for his Dremel tool, so you may want to keep that in mind & have extras on hand.
According to reports I read online, it takes a professional about an hour to install this hitch. It is supposed to take a DIY person about 2 hours. My husband is pretty handy, but it did take him longer than that, about 3 1/2 hours. Of course, it could have been that his buddy "Sam Adams" was assisting him more than I realized ;)
I did see, on another website, that Curt recommends adding a "stabilization" strap if you plan to haul things other than trailers. I didn't know exactly what that meant, so I called them & they explained it to me. Basically, a class one hitch isn't the sturdiest hitch out there, but since it's a Versa, there really isn't anything heavy duty that is being made to fit. Since it's NOT a heavy duty hitch, if you haul something around that doesn't have wheels touching the ground, it puts a lot of downward forces on the hitch assembly. This means that you should use a strap to help support that extra weight, especially if the road is bumpy. In my case, I'm hauling bicycles, so I attached a strap from my hitch mounted bike rack to the top of the hatchback on my car. Curt sells a strap for this purpose, but I made my own, since I'm cheap. I took a part off of a trunk mounted rack & put it on a tie down strap. After talking to the man at Curt, I realized that this probably isn't a bad idea for ANYONE who is hauling bikes on a hitch mounted rack, no matter how heavy duty your hitch is. That's a heck of a lot of force, if you think about it. Keep in mind, that ALL hitches that fit the Versa are class one hitches (at least in my research.)
There's nothing I don't like about this hitch & would buy it again.

Trailer Hitch Cover with Brake Light Review

Do not waste your money. The whole idea is to have a light that complements your regular brake lights. This light is of such low power that it is worthless as any sort of brake light. Spend a few more dollars and buy the LED version of this light. It is about twice as bright.

Curt Manufacturing 11329 Class I Receiver Review

Curt Manufacturing 11329 Class I Receiver

Good and sturdy hitch receiver. I use it to mount a bike rack on my car. I have never towed with it.
It took about 45 minutes to install. I had to drill two holes in the spare tire well to mount bolts through, but the rest attached easily to existing mounting holes in the Mazda frame.
It looks pretty solid, and has a powder coat finish so it ought to be fairly weather resistant.
It has a nice curve to the crossbar, so most of it hides up in the body work. All that is visible below the bumper is the receiver block.
