(More customer reviews)I bought this hitch in order to use my Thule bike rack on my Honda Insight. I was apprehensive about putting a hitch on my new car because I didn't want it to void the warrantee. The dealer said ok since I'm not hooking up wiring.
The instructions said it should take 45 minutes to install. To my surprise that's about what it took. I had a pair of ramps to back the car up onto; it would have been very difficult without them. BTW, the instructions said I would have to cut back a plastic shield. I didn't have to do this because the hitch mounting plate fit underneath. Also, lubricating the rubber muffler mount made removal and reinstallation of the mounts easy (done by hand- no tools). I used Wd-40.
The Curt hitch is very good looking and clean and doesn't look too obvious on my car. I highly recommend it.
