(More customer reviews)Amazon had this hitch receiver at a fantastic price, and it was supposed to fit our mini van, with the caveat that we may have to drop the exhaust system to install it. I was nervous--installing a hitch can be a nightmare, and ordering one from Amazon wasn't a familiar routine for me, but I did love the price!
To make a long story short, the hitch arrived quickly, and our son in law helped install it, as he had installed numerous hitches in the past on other vehicles. Installation was a breeze--he said it was the easiest hitch installation he had ever done! Everything fit just like it was supposed to, and the directions were very clear and accurate.
Our only "hitch" in the installation is that we can no longer carry a full sized spare under the van. (The exhaust didn't have to be dropped, just moved out of the way a little bit on our Chevy Venture mini van.)
The directions said the hitch would take about 50 minutes to install, they calculated it took about half an hour instead. It does go a lot smoother with 2 people doing the installation, as the hitch has some substantial weight to it, so installation will go a lot quicker if a helper can hold it in place rather than having to prop it.
This was definitely another great purchase from Amazon, and everyone is jealous because of how inexpensive our hitch was compared to their discount or parts store hitches too!
