(More customer reviews)The Curt Hitch Shank pictured is not # 17121. The drop and rise dimensions are correct for the 17121. However the actual 17121 has 9 bolt holes in the vertical shank where hitch head is mounted. Vertical section is 12 inches long and the top is even with the top surface of horizontal shank. That leaves 10 inches below the bottom of horizontal shank.
I understand that the Curt 5th Wheel hitches are made in USA and appear to be sturdy and well built. This hitch shank is sturdy as well but made in China. The gusset or brace between horizontal and vertical is welded somewhat off center on one end. Some of the other welds are not as clean where they end as you might expect. Paint had some minor flaws. Still, all in all, nothing that will compromise function. Hitch shank represents an excellent value for what it costs.
