(More customer reviews)Curiously, when I type my vehicle info into the AMAZON "parts finder" application, this hitch doesn't come up. Instead, I went to the CURT manufacturing web site and determined which hitches fit my truck, then returned to AMAZON and searched on the part numbers.
Curt makes two that fit my 2010 FORD F-150. One has a square main tube and this hitch has a round main tube. I'm not sure why they give you the choice but I chose the round one.
It arrived quickly and in good condition. It bolted right up with no problem. I was a little worried that I would have to remove the FORD factory trailer wiring connector on the underside of the factory step-bumper but the CURT hitch cleared it with room to spare. It cleared the spare tire just fine too.
I'm happy with this product.AMAZON doesn't list a weight rating for this model#13371 hitch other than to say it's a class III. The installation instructions are more specific. They say:
"Gross load capacity when used as a weight carrying hitch: 6000 lbs trailer weight & 600 lbs tongue weight."
"Gross load capacity when used as a weight distribution hitch: 11,000 lbs trailer weight & 1000 lbs tongue weight."
"Do not exceed vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity."Hope this helps.

Hopkins Plug-In Simple 42475 T Connector Wiring Kit Review

(More customer reviews)There is no cargo strap hook or screw to hold it on a 2005 Liberty Sport as specified in step 2 of the instructions, and the strap hooks on the cargo floor that hold the carpet down are riveted in. The simple answer is to just skip step 2 for a 2005 Liberty Sport and everything else is correct, and you don't have to remove the riveted-in strap hooks, but I got confused and didn't want to damage my Liberty so I gave up too soon. I left negative feedback on amazon.com and emailed my frustration to Support at Hopkins. They immediately emailed back that I should look again, which I did, and I removed the negative feedback because they were willing to work with me. The short version is that everything worked out fine. I installed it today, it was easy, and it works great. Hopefully, they will tweak their instructions but, bottom line, I had trouble and they came through. Another point not mentioned in the instructions: You can push the trailer end of the wiring through the access grommet and then press the cap that fills the grommet hole back down on top of the wiring to seal off the cargo area. Now I can honestly say that I have always used Hopkins wiring kits, and I have always been pleased. (Thanks, Frank.)

Reese Towpower 44082 2 inch Class III / IV Professional Hitch Receiver Review

(More customer reviews)This product is a perfect fit for the '02 Jeep Liberty and was very easy to mount using the six, factory mounting points on the Jeep. For the money, you cannot go wrong. I will say that packaging for this product is very poor as the tow hitch is heavy and cumbersome. When it arrived, it had broken through the box in a number of places. In addition, the plastic socket cap that has the Reese logo on it was completely shattered. This item itself was poorly made and would not have lasted long any way but regardless, when you buy something new, you do not want anything broken. I went to Amazon.com and they sent me "contact supplier". I could not find contact info on Amazon so went to google and contacted Reese directly. Reese was very helpful and sent a new and better replacement overnight.
As an added note and this is not an issue with this item but go ahead and plan on getting a 12MMX1.75 thread tap to clean out the threads. This is an issue with Jeep in that they should have plugged the holes at the factory so they would not corrode and crud up. I simply sprayed each mounting hole with a lot of WD40 and then threaded the tap in. This took a little effort (and frustration) but once started was pretty easy.
One other review for this procduct said it took them 20 minutes on install. I will say that after cleaning out the threads, loosening the exhaust tail pipe and pulling it slightly out of the way (it is directly beneath one bolt hole on the right hand side), I had this thing mounted in about 10 minutes (how long does it take to thread and tighten 6 bolts?).
I did add a 12MM hardened lock washer in addition to the flat washer provided with the hitch.

Curt Manufacturing 13147 Class III Receiver Review

(More customer reviews)This is the 2nd Curt hitch I've owned, and I expect it to be just as durable as the 1st (installed on a 20014 Honda CR-V). I really like that the Class III hitch has a 2-inch box, compatible with most receivers and hitch accessories (unlike the 1-1/4" Class II hitch). Just remember that the Forrester is limited to 2,400 lbs with trailer breaks. Installation took me about 90 minutes including setup and cleanup (my garage is not well organized). An organized mechanic's shop could finish the job in under 1 hr.
Pros:
Attractive
Sturdy
No welding needed
Online installation video available.
Cons:
Installation involves removing 5 exhaust hangers, and cutting/grinding to enlarge the chasis mounting holes
Requires a coulpe of tools not found in every non-mechanic's garage (Dremmel and torque wrench).
