(More customer reviews)Loose fit means lots of clunking. I intended to use it with an extend-a-truck so I could haul a canoe above the truck and still two a trailer. Way too loose for that. Had to leave the canoe home.
I see some higher priced versions have set screws that are intended to eliminate the problem. I may get the drill and tap out and see if it will work.

(More customer reviews)I was looking for a 2" x 6" hitch receiver extension, something that would fit into my hitch receiver, so that I could insert something else into the extension, however this is actually a hitch receiver itself (the label on the item also calls it a hitch receiver). It will not fit into a 2" receiver. The picture is accurate and it was my mistake purchasing this item. I returned it for a refund and had to purchase an actual hitch receiver extender.

(More customer reviews)First, let me explain that I hate the banging caused by sloppy receivers so I have tried a very expensive cushion hitch and a cheaper imitation of this product. The cushion hitch worked well for a few years but wore out to use and was pretty expensive. The cheaper versions of this product will work on bike racks and lightweight stuff only. I tow snowmobiles, 19 to 25 ft. boats, firewood and other heavy trailers.
This product is so simple it hurts, but yet IT WORKS. It is a few bucks cheaper on Amazon and the freight is also less than most other places. And IT WORKS. Your stinger will be in solid and the jerking & banging will be gone. It also deters theft because your stinger no longer comes off easily. It installs in a minute with common tools and I will say it one more time - IT WORKS. I have two of them.

Reese Towpower 11004 18" Hitch Box Extension Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this to extend my receiver hitch because my pickup camper is 18 inches longer than my truck box. It works great for pulling my 3000 lb boat. I haven't noticed any extra sway in the boat when towing. I will also be using it for my bike rack. Like other Reese products I have tried, this appears to be very well built.

Some things to be aware of:
- Extension is 2" to 2" receiver
- This extension is rated to 4000 lbs gross trailer wt. but you also can't exceed 65% of you vehicle's hitch rating. (Some extensions limit you to 50% of vehicle hitch rating)
- You may need to increase the length of your trailer safety chains to reach your vehicle hitch. You can't attach the safety chains to the extension.
- You may need to extend your trailer light cord to reach your vehicle outlet.
