Dual 2" Hitch Bicycle Receiver Adapter Extension Review

Dual 2 Hitch Bicycle Receiver Adapter Extension

Loose fit means lots of clunking. I intended to use it with an extend-a-truck so I could haul a canoe above the truck and still two a trailer. Way too loose for that. Had to leave the canoe home.
I see some higher priced versions have set screws that are intended to eliminate the problem. I may get the drill and tap out and see if it will work.

The thing weighs 40lbs! Nuff said. Seriously the welds are tops. It is bigger than you might think, it is heavier than you think, It is 40lbs of steel plate. This works great for us to pull our camping trailer and a bike rack. Solid solid solid.

Tow Stow Receiver Hitch - Double Ball Mount, 1 7/8", 2" balls Review

Tow Stow Receiver Hitch - Double Ball Mount, 1 7/8, 2 balls
Average Reviews:

This hitch has served its purpose well. The only complaint I have is that the photo is wrong. It shows a hitch with 3 balls, but the description says that it's a double ball. Luckily I read the description and knew what to expect...

Reese Towpower 11004 18" Hitch Box Extension Review

Reese Towpower 11004 18 Hitch Box Extension
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this to extend my receiver hitch because my pickup camper is 18 inches longer than my truck box. It works great for pulling my 3000 lb boat. I haven't noticed any extra sway in the boat when towing. I will also be using it for my bike rack. Like other Reese products I have tried, this appears to be very well built.

Some things to be aware of:
- Extension is 2" to 2" receiver
- This extension is rated to 4000 lbs gross trailer wt. but you also can't exceed 65% of you vehicle's hitch rating. (Some extensions limit you to 50% of vehicle hitch rating)
- You may need to increase the length of your trailer safety chains to reach your vehicle hitch. You can't attach the safety chains to the extension.
- You may need to extend your trailer light cord to reach your vehicle outlet.

Rugged Ridge 11580.50 Universal Application Black Powdercoated Receiver Hitch Extension for 2" Hitch Review

Rugged Ridge 11580.50 Universal Application Black Powdercoated Receiver Hitch Extension for 2 Hitch
Average Reviews:

Great product. I had a bumper mounted bike rack on my travel trailer with a hitch mount. The rack wasn't far enough out to clear the spare tire. The extension allowed me to move the rack back about 8 inches which was perfect for carrying the bikes w/o hitting the spare. Well made and nice looking too.

Heininger 6000 Advantage Adjustable 11-Inch Hitch Extension Review

Heininger 6000 Advantage Adjustable 11-Inch Hitch Extension
Average Reviews:

The label on the box clearly says "Not for towing". This is used mainly for bike rack.
Easy to install and quality is OK. It comes with a bolt and washer for securing the extension to your vehicle. The bolt and washer work together to prevent hitch extension from wobbling. So, it's like getting both the hitch extension and a wobbling stopper in one good price.
In summary, it serves the intended purpose well with the addition of wobbling stopper. Good deal.

Curt Manufacturing 45785 Adaptable Hitch Extender 1 1/4 To 2 6 In Long Review

Curt Manufacturing 45785 Adaptable Hitch Extender 1 1/4 To 2 6 In Long
Average Reviews:

I tried to insert this adapter into the standard Class I receiver on my Honda Element, and it promptly became very stuck. Once we got it unstuck (which took some doing), my friend measured the 1 1/4" end of this adapter and discovered that it was 1/64" too wide on all sides, due to the thickness of the paint. He had to use his belt sander to remove the paint from the 1 1/4" end before it would fit properly into my Class I receiver. The 2" end seems to be the proper size.
