I unpacked the two boxes that arrived (boxes '1 of 2' and '2 of 2')and checked against the parts list in the instructions and discovered that the 'adjustable shank' was not included in the shipment, even though it's shown in the product illustration on the website. The adjustable shank is the 2" square, L-shaped component that inserts into the receiver on the vehicle and to which the ball mount bolts. This item is available on Amazon.com from 'Curt Mfg.' as a single piece part, but by any read of the website and parts list, should be included as part of this "assembly." You'd think that Equal-i-zer, the manufacturer, would want its Amazon.com customers to be happy with every aspect of the customer experience, which is not where I'm at right now. If Amazon.com is allowing this oversight to occur, then I submit that Equal-i-zer should be screaming bloody murder that the biggest online channel in the world is putting their reputation at risk...I'll update this review with the final resolution, no matter what it is. Update 1: We determined that the order was correct and the item we purchased was not supposed to include the shank. With that, we are following up with Amazon and the manufacturer to fix the misleading images and product descriptions to make it clear that the shank is not included for those Equal-i-zer parts that end in xxx1.
